What does it take to ensure that candidates feel welcomed and set up for success from their first contact with your office?

It starts with an inclusive vision, then adds defined processes that put people in a position to succeed at each stage of their journey – from recruiting, through onboarding and early career development. Every candidate is unique and brings a different background and strengths to their career. By recognizing this uniqueness, an office can provide a personalized experience that helps attract, retain and promote a broad diversity of candidates.

In this session you will learn the philosophies and strategies Avril has developed to personalize the candidate experience during recruiting, onboarding and early career development.  She will also share how she has built a vision of an exceptional candidate experience into a reality.

At Northwestern Mutual, Avril has had a unique career path as starting her career as an assistant to the Managing Partner and today, as District Director, leads a well-established team of financial professionals within the Greater New Orleans and Gulfport area. She is passionate about mentoring and equipping others to make changes that positively impact their lives and the lives of others. Whether they are involved with recruiting, training, delivering financial security or leading others, she understands her colleagues’ experiences as she has lived it too. Her goal is to challenge and support the advisors and representatives in our offices to become the best version of themselves – professionally, personally, and financially.

By remaining true to Northwestern Mutual’s mission of enriching lives, fulfilling dreams, and helping secure futures, Avril feels fortunate to be a part of a company that strives to continuously expand its diversity and inclusion endeavors within the financial industry. Northwestern Mutual encourages its advisors to be their authentic selves in forging impactful connections with clients. Personally, Avril is committed to continually learning about ways to share important information in the D&I Space with our leadership by attending summits and sitting on committee boards.

Avril received her Finance degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and her MBA from the University of New Orleans. She is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana. Avril currently resides in Kenner, Louisiana, with her husband, Vandon and her four children, Grace, Ellie, Luke, and Julia. She loves to spend time with family and friends.
